After a long time away, I honestly hadn't seriously considered coming back to blogging from my own website. But Medium's recent policy changes — constantly favoring certain viewpoints, imposing pointless restrictions, and running into forms of censorship — pushed me to reconsider. Since we've had our own domain for over 20 years, I figured: why not come back here.

A while back I managed to acquire the .com.tr domain — previously registered to someone I didn't personally know but recognized from the media — once it lapsed, through entirely legitimate means. Since the new .tr extension has also just launched, I'll be publishing my Turkish articles there in parallel with this blog, across both .com.tr and .tr. These won't be synced with each other — they'll be completely independent. There may be times I publish a Turkish version of the same piece, or a different take on it, but it won't be a direct translation or the same format each time, because I simply don't have the time to maintain that kind of workflow. I'm busy.

As I approach 40, I can feel myself slowly getting older — I can't keep up the way I used to, and I get tired doing things that used to be effortless. I'm dealing with a number of health issues, but somehow I keep going. Last year I became a father to a daughter, and now, at about a year old, spending time with her means more to me than almost anything else.

Good writing, cybersecurity, technology, ideas, and more — we'll go through all of it together here. The .com.tr site will follow a different line, with some extras beyond these topics.

A few parts of the site are still under construction, but everything takes time. See you soon — there's a lot more to talk about.
